Codes & Certifications

The National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors offers the Repair Certificate of Authorization and “R” stamp for the repair and/or alteration of boilers, pressure vessels, and other pressure-retaining items.

Power Boilers (over 15 psi steam, 160 psi water and temperature exceeding 250 F) shall be stamped ASME (S) and National Boiler (N.B.) The “S” stamp by virtue of its description, also covers the “PP” area of pressure piping.

Pressure Vessels Fabrication or weld modifications of unfired pressure vessels require the ASME “U” and National Board Stamp.

Pressure Piping applies to boilers in which steam or other vapor is generated at pressures exceeding 15 psig, and high temperature water boilers intended for operation at pressures exceeding 160 psig and/or temperatures exceeding 250 degrees F.

The NB mark is used by manufacturers to identify items registered with the National Board. It is also used by pressure relief device manufacturers and assemblers to identify pressure relief devices that have been certified by the National Board in accordance with NB-501,

AISC Certification Programs set the quality standard for the structural steel industry and are the most recognized national quality certification program for the industry. Our programs focus on the entire process of fabrication and erection. Our goal is to build quality structures from the start by focusing on error prevention rather than error correction.

  • AISC BU (Certified Building Fabricator)
  • AISC IBR (Major Bridge)
  • AISC SPE-P1 to P3 (Sophisticated Paint Endorsements)
